Faulkner County and The City of Conway set up a severe weather communications net at the beginning of this year. This involves all Fire departments in Faulkner County as well as Emergency Management Coordinators from surrounding counties. We operate on AWIN Central 5 talk group and bring the net up when severe weather is nearing our area. Shortly after we began this we were invited to a presentation given by your group at the local HAM club meeting. We signed on to WARNIM not really knowing what to expect. Since that time WARNIM has been an extremely valuable tool in our severe weather plan. It allows us to track severe weather from the time it enters Arkansas until it exits our area, providing us with real time information. It also allows us to directly contact The National Weather Service in North Little Rock to receive as well as forward valuable weather information. I believe that WARNIM is helping us make Faulkner and surrounding counties a safer place for its citizens during severe weather events
